I just realized when I talk to strangers on the phone, and Im about to hang up I say "Okay, thanks a lot! Buhh-bye!". Wow, awful.

So I'm pretty sure that dog I posted about(the one with the puppies) had mange... aaaaand now I'm pretty sure  that both of my dogs have it. Poor things, they are soooo itchy. I said "buh-bye" to the woman at the vets office, you could HEAR her smiling over the phone... I am cranky when I havent had enough sleep in a couple days.

I'll post some pictures of Angel and her puppies that I was able to get a couple days before they left when I brought some food and water, and spent some time with them... they were starving for all three things. :(

Okay, time to heave myself up, make some kind of fancy breakfast, hopefully with fruit and... no not Hollandaise sauce, I just looked that up, a half a cup of butter and egg yolks might be a little extreme this morning. I think I'll just have eggs and bacon, maybe some blueberry pancakes, I keep forgetting to buy syrup, dammit! Honey it is, again.

Holy shit the song from Mr Rogers Neighborhood just popped into my head. ohhh that's weird...

I'm tired.

I hope your day has a little something special in it(maybe even me!)

Subject:Blur, Flats and Zombies!!!
Time:12:51 pm
Hello All,
Well it's been a very busy and interesting weekend. I don't really know where to start... I guess I shall start with the whole situation with my flat and then talk about the fun stuff later. Basically for the past 5 years I have lived alone in my 2 bedroom flat. I told the letting agents that I have no intention of leaving and sign a 12 month contract every year. In fact 2 weeks ago I did just that, signed a new contract for the year, but for the past 6 months I have spent most of my time at Sally's (my girlfriend) place. It is much nicer than my flat; it has a basement, lots of storage space, en suite and modern. Things are going well between Sally and I and there had been talk that we might move in together some day. I said that when Amy (my girlfriend’s flatmate) moves out that I would think about it. Well, Amy announced last Tuesday that she would be moving out in a month. Which came as a surprise, as she had not mentioned anything about it before and it isn’t even the end of their contract? This dropped Sally in it. Amy was unaware that they didn't have separate contracts but the full rent had to be paid no matter who lived there. So as of next month Sally would have to pay the whole rent on her own so she would have to find someone to move in fast. Sally and I had a chat and I said that I would see if i could get out of my contract on my flat and move into hers. However it isn’t that simple. The contract I signed (just 10 days before) is a assured shorthold tenancy agreement and basically I would have to pay around £650 to get out of the contract which is made up of rent percentage and legal fees and pay the full rent until someone moves in. I spoke to citizen's advice and they said that there is no way out of it. However on weighing up the costs it would be cheaper living at Sally's then keeping my flat and it would be easier to find people to move into my flat than find a flatmate for Sally so we have set the ball rolling for me moving out of mine and moving in with Sally. All of this was decided on Friday and Friday was the day that we saw BLUR...

They were amazing. Everyone who went had a great time. The sun was shining; the weather held out, it was perfect. The Hyde Park gigs were blurs come back gig after years of time away doing solo projects and the like and apart from the headline slot at Glastonbury Festival it was the first time Graham Coxon had played with the band since he left in 2002. It was something special, very special; the gig had sold out within 2 minutes of going on sale so we were very lucky to be there. They played all the classics and you can tell they were genuinely enjoying themselves. The crowd got so excited that people must have been having difficulties at the very front as an official had to run up to Damon to tell him to tell the crowd to calm down as they were concerned for health and safety. Damon took this in his stride and spoke to us on his megaphone that if we could turn our enjoyment down by a fraction they would appreciate it. As the gig went on I started to have pains in my legs and so Sally and I moved near the back where everyone around us were still enjoying themselves, so much so that a fight almost broke out between two groups of people. One group were very drunk and having a laugh and tried to get their shorter friends to sit up on their shoulders. However as soon as anyone in the crowd did they had plastic bottles thrown at them by irritated spectators. So as we were stood next to them a lot of bottles started heading our way. I got hit twice so we moved to avoid them but also next to us were a family with a baby in a pram, and that’s when it kicked off. The father of the baby in the pram started on one of the drunk guys for inciting bottles throwing so close to the pram. I could see both sides. The drunk guys saying they are just having fun and the father just out to protect his baby but like one of the drunk guys said… “who brings a baby in a pram to a gig?” The situation soon calmed down and everything went back to normal and the rest of the gig went on without incident.
Sally had booked us a hotel near Hyde Park for the Friday night so after the gig we only had a short walk before bed, which also meant we had Saturday to spend in London before head back home. I got in touch with my friend Jo ( [info]superba ) to see if she wanted to meet up as I wanted to see if I could get the hardback book one of ‘The Walking Dead’ as I have been looking for it for months and months and had given up on play.com posting my order as they appear to have been out of stock since I ordered it 2 months ago. Sally and I met up with Jo at ‘forbidden planet’ and had a look around and they had lots of trade but only had book two, three and four of the hardbacks. Lucky for me Jo knew of other comic shops which weren’t that far away so we headed off to the next one which was ‘orbital comics’. Again there seemed to be lots of trades but no hardbacks. Jo said that I might as well ask if they have it so I asked the girl at the desk if they had any and she said
‘No I’m sorry we don’t. Is this for the signing…?’
‘Signing?’ I replied
‘Yes, Charlie Adlard the artist behind The Walking Dead will be here at 4pm to do a signing…’

OMG!!!!!! I had to find a copy!!! HAD TO!!! We then did a search for comic shops in the area that would have copy and found one down the road that had one left. It must be fate or something. I bought book one and two and then we retired to a pub where I proved that I am the slowest drinker in the world until 4pm when we headed back to orbital to meet Charlie Adlard.
Not only did we meet him and have him sign my books but he drew zombie versions of all of us.

How cool is that!?!? After the signing we said goodbye to Jo and got the train home. I then spent the whole of Sunday listening to blur and reading ‘The Walking Dead’. It was the perfect weekend. On Sunday Sally also reminded me that Saturday 4th July was also our 6 month anniversary which we had forgotten about due to all the hassle with the flats, blur and everything else. So we are going to get both drawings framed together and hung up in ‘our’ flat when I move in. The perfect gift!

I have pre-grieved myself into a state of wakefulness. Do you ever do that? Pre-grieve a loss? See, when I left my mom today, she wasn't feeling well. When we talked on the phone she wasn't doing well. It worries me. Makes me wonder about the worst, and then I pre-grieve, which involves a lot of crying and trying to get straight in my head what I would need to do in the event that she were to die. Have to call her boss. Have to explain it to Thor. Have to call her brother. Have to figure out the insurance. At least I know all her bills are paid and where the money is. I told her the other day that I wasn't going to bury her, but I was either putting her in a nice box to keep, or I was making her into jewelry. She liked the jewelry idea.

That came about because she said Boom's grave had been shown on the news twice this weekend. His marker is in the front row of a front section in a national cemetery, and she keeps fresh flags on his grave, so he ends up on the news just about every military holiday. I haven't visited his grave since they plopped Grandma in on top of him. I'm not a cemetery visitor. And as much as my family has moved around, I'd feel weird planting Mom somewhere and then moving away from her. Boom would be happier among soldiers, and Grandma happier with him, so that's okay. If I ever move from here, that's okay. But I'm taking Mom with me.

So the trip back from [info]talkisdead's house had no car issues. It did have a stop in Wentzille to watch a first rate fireworks show though. Nice 30 minutes production. Then I got to see more lights as I got a warning for doing 70 in a 60. There is a 15 mile stretch of four lane on US61 between Troy and Wentzville that is a 60 and not a 65. He gave me a warning and told me where it went back up to 65. The I got to see somemore fireworks over Troy

Now I am in the office installing a patch to one of our newspaper systems. I am hoping that it will be done soon.
